C2E2 2019: Kombat 11 In Cooperation With Netherrealm Studio

C2E2 comes and goes. Chicago Cartoon and Entertainment Expo brought the coolest geek celebrities and activities to the second city. TVGB reported all the game contents of the exhibition. As last year, my focus is on the AAA franchise company born and raised in Chicago: Criminal Herbart. Last year, I met the disc staff and learned about the past of this series. But this time, I want to know the future of this series through the upcoming “Prisoner Combat 11” related team. Therefore, I wore the latest update of the most popular old Rolling(this version is called “Fyflux “) and visited McCorkmick Place.

Forget the big news first. Two wonderful characters in the game appeared in the group for the first time. First of all, due to the mistake of a host, the fans’ favorite character, Noob Saibot, was unexpectedly displayed in advance. As stated by Ed Boon and other representatives of Netherrealm Studio, Noob has a new look with a gloved accent, with some silver and black mixed together. I, Sub Zero, disappeared in “prisoner Kombat X”, so I’m glad to see him here. But another release may be more interested in the first DLC character in the game. Watched Krypt’s MK11 trailer This is a series of powerful functions. Players can open the box through the basement, unlock alternative clothing, concept art, etc. This time, Krypt will have a wizard for the general format. But this is not any communication. This film is adapted from Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played the role in the fake religious film “Mortal Kombat” in 1995, and is played by him. Although this movie is absurd, it reflects the less serious side of Netherrealm Studio. Although the launch date of DLC is not given, at least it will be seen on Krypton at the beginning of the game.

The big secret is always the highlight of the video game panel, but we also know some behind the scenes information. The moderator paid some attention to the interaction of various departments of Netherrealm in the story. They are really the first company to emphasize stories in fighting games. In order to promote this concern, the development process has also changed. When programmers and designers are playing games, the author has started to write the story script of the next game. It is this script that promotes how the art team designs roles and environments. On the contrary, the art team and the programming team work closely together. This creative process is the reason why games such as “mortal fast break”(2011) and “injustice: God is among us” are praised for their perfect stories and designs. But I did notice that the host avoided talking about the first game “Criminal Kangbat vs DC Universe”, which demonstrated Netherrealm’s storytelling ability. I’m disappointed; personally, I think this game is much more honorable than the fans gave him. Anyway, “reality show Combat 11” sounds better integrated than before, which is an interesting prospect. As they explained, this meeting is about the past and the present, so I look forward to seeing how this idea is realized.

although all this is cool, the audience(except for the disclosure) has the strongest reaction, taking Baraka’s face tearing terminator as an example, to subdivide the animation production method of Death. Considering the simplification of such violence, the storyboard is actually quite humorous. There, we saw animation and initial 3D modeling, which were finally supplemented in the Unreal engine. Although there are many other benefits behind the scenes, I also want to spend some time discussing other C2E2 video game related attractions.

For example, there is a row of Japanese arcade games in the center of the exhibition hall. Most games are rhythm games, including strange games. There is a board full of buttons in the game. Each button has a separate screen. The other is a button that turns around the screen. I don’t know if this is the intention of the developer, but it looks like the arcade version of two console rhythm games, namely “Elite Warrior” and “Character 4: Stay up late”. Anyway, they are very interesting, so I won’t complain. But the game that really attracted my attention was “silent scope: main content”. Yes, Konami continues the classic arcade series of Japan and becomes the whole animation. This topic has brought interesting changes in 2014, 12 years after the previous game was launched. Not only in terms of animation aesthetics, set a transparent screen on the main screen, allowing beautiful visual effects. Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to play these games, so one of my writers will tell you all the details in detail. They will also tell the PC and console game settings of the booth. A lot of things have happened, and I haven’t even touched them.

In general, C2E22019 is probably my favorite year in the 10-year competition. I like Netherrealm Studio to give some attention to fans in my hometown; in general, people should participate in larger activities to carry out these demonstrations. I also met the incomparable David Tennant. By attending the symposium of Amy Joe Johnson, I realized my goal for many years and got to know all the living classic “electric riders” actors. They need some work on how to get people to queue up for more popular events. Because it’s often confusing. But this is the only obstacle I found. C2E2 may not be as big as PAX or San Diego Comic Show, but it is still interesting every year. It seems that there are not many people traveling far away, but if you are in this area, I hope to see you there next year.

Important note: The organizer of the conference has provided a pass for me and my TVGB writer colleagues. Nevertheless, my passion here is mine.
